What makes Gold Standard 100% Whey a top whey protein?
First off, it contains 24 grams of high quality whey protein per serving. To break it down further, it’s packed with whey protein isolates and provides whey protein microfractions. It has more than 5 grams of BCAA’s and over 4 grams of Glutamin & Glutamic Acid per serving. With only 3 grams carbs and 1 gram fat, 100% Whey is designed for people who want to fuel their muscles without all the unnecessary extra carbs/ fats.

With over 15+ flavors to choose from, you’ll never get bored with just 1 flavor. I personally go with the standard vanilla, but have tried the chocolate, strawberry banana and cookies & cream. All of which taste absolutely amazing mixed with milk or water. Whatever flavor you go with, it’s pretty much guaranteed it’ll taste on par with your standards.
Half the reason why Gold Standard 100% whey protein is one of the top protein supplements is because of the amazingly low price that you can find anywhere online or in stores (for the most part). There are deals for 2 lb tubs for about $30, 5 lb tubs for less than $60 and 10 lb tubs for a little over $100. Obviously the best bang for your buck is the 10 lb tub, because the price per serving is cheapest and it’ll last you months on end. Other whey protein products lack the low price Optimum Nutrition offers.
Hands-down one of the easiest whey protein supplements to mix. It is definitely easier with water or skim milk. With 2% or whole milk you might have to give it a couple extra stirs. If you’re using a shaker bottle, all it takes is a couple shakes and it’s fully mixed.
With 24 grams of high-quality protein and 5 grams of BCAA’s per serving, Gold Standard 100% Whey gives your muscles the fuel it needs to repair and recover from a grueling workout. I usually go with a scoop and 1/2 after workouts and then another scoop and 1/2 after dinner. On my off days I’ll make a protein shake in the morning with 2 scoops. I’ve seen great results by doing this.
Obviously Optimum Nutrition’s Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein is a top choice for whey protein. You really can’t go wrong with the price and more important the quality. There are thousands of reviews wherever you look and mostly all of them are excellent.
However, one major thing to look out for and the reason why I stopped using Gold Standard 100% Whey is because of the huge amounts of artificial sweeteners and unhealthy additives like high fructose corn syrup, Sucralose and many more. I switched to another protein called BioTrust Low Carb Protein. This protein is of the absolute highest quality without all of the nasty artificial ingredients and additives.
